I thought I had it alllllll figured out. You know… get on a diet, restrict calorie intake, follow a meal plan – and then everything would fall into place. I would lose weight and finally become happy.
Oh, how I was wrong.
The more I tried controlling my food, my weight, and my body, the worse it got.
I counted calories like a mad woman, I tried all diets under this sun and bought into all kind of toxic beliefs around food, body, and weight.
This is what I really happened:
More weight gain.
Eating in secret.
(Because I’d skip all socializing, because they wouldn’t have the food I was allowed to have on my diet, and because I felt ashamed of my weight.)
Loss of trust in my intuition.
A lack of joy, pleasure, and freedom in life.
My self-worth was determined by how well I ate in a day.
I was super determined to solve my issue and I was prepared to do anything. I researched like crazy… I read gazillion books, followed the advice of nutritionists, doctors. Nothing helped!I looked EVERYWHERE … but inside.
It was because I looked EVERYWHERE … but inside.
Then I decided to let go of everything I know, I followed my intuition, and I started developing different approaches to this problem.
I tested everything on myself. It didn’t just happen in an instant, it took quite a while before I finally figured it all out and put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
But when I did, oh wow! It was such a breakthrough for me.
It felt so wonderful to let go of the yo-yo dieting, overeating, restricting, binging, and counting calories, and be in complete trust with my body WHILE losing weight.
This is a no willpower approach and once you learn the fundamentals, you are forever free.
